Miami-UConn Final 4 betting Odds: Who Has The Edge?

The Miami Hurricanes pulled off what seemed to be impossible. Trailing by 13 points against Texas in the second half of the Elite 8 matchup on Saturday afternoon, the Hurricanes seemed destined to go down in the Elite 8 for the second consecutive year. But once again leaning on guards Jordan Miller and Isaiah Wong, they were able to mount a thrilling comeback, setting up a date with UConn in the Final 4 next weekend. The early Miami-Uconn Final 4 betting odds show UConn will be opening as the favorite.

Miami-UConn Final 4 Betting Odds: UConn Opens as the Favorite

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, UConn (-5) opens as a sizeable favorite against the Hurricanes. Miami will be +195  on the moneyline, with UConn at -230. The over/under is currently set at 149.5.

UConn also takes over as the favorite to win the NCAA Tournament after dominating Gonzaga in the Elite 8 on Saturday night. Head coach Danny Hurley credited a strong BIG East when describing how his team has the toughness to overcome some woes earlier in the season to build this juggernaut.

“We just kind of got back to the team we were early in the season,” head coach Dan Hurley said after the win, per NY Post. “The Big East is the best conference in the country and we went through some struggles, but once we got out of that league and started playing nonconference teams again, we were OK.”

While UConn is used to making deep runs in the NCAA Tournament throughout its storied history, this marks the first time that Miami will be making the trip to the Final 4. Miami head coach Jim Larranaga will be making his second trip to the Final 4 after accomplishing the same feat with a Cinderella George Mason team in 2006.

“To me, this [Miami] program is really in the same direction [as George Mason],” Larrañaga said, per the Miami Hurricane . “In these last two years, we’re enjoying the fruits of our labors that started 12 years ago.”

Larranaga’s Hurricanes have come in as the betting underdogs in each of their last three NCAA Tournament wins, and the Miami-UConn Final 4 odds show they are being doubted, yet again. Regardless of the outcome, we’re likely in for an action-packed Final 4 with teams very few thought would still be left standing.
