Nebraska +2.5 (-110) vs. Colorado -2.5 (-110)

The page has yet to turn on the first week of the College football season, but that hasn’t stopped sportsbooks from posting early odds for NCAAF Week 2. Colorado and Deion Sanders stole the show on Saturday, and their early performance is creating momentum in betting markets. The Buffaloes have opened as -2.5 at DraftKings in their home opener against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Colorado won a shootout against TCU on Saturday, defeating the Horned Frogs 45-42. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders led the team on offense to the tune of 510 passing yards and four touchdowns. Sanders, who is Deion Sanders’ son, transferred from Jackson State when his father took the job in Boulder this offseason. He was joined on their roster by over 50 other newcomers. College football pundits did not know what to expect given that roster turnover, but the big victory over last year’s National Champion runner-ups is building confidence.

The Buffaloes also have the benefit of hosting a Nebraska Cornhuskers program on the decline. They were 4-8 last season in the final year of Scott Frost‘s tenure in Lincoln. The Huskers are hoping to turn things around this season under new coach Matt Rhule. The team got off to a slow start last week, losing to the Minnesota Golden Gophers 10-13. Game totals have yet to be released in the early college football odds, but they’ll likely be favored to score much more against Colorado.

Notre Dame-North Carolina State Odds, via DraftKings
Notre Dame -9 (-110) vs. North Carolina State +9 (-110)

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish head south to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Saturday. The Irish have the benefit of already playing two games on the year. They defeated Navy 42-3 in Week 0 in Dublin and followed it up with a 56-3 blowout over Tennessee State. This week’s competition should be a lot steeper in Raleigh.

The game is a home coming of sorts for Notre Dame’s new quarterback Sam Hartman, who transferred to the team from Wake Forest in the offseason. He has thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions in the Irish’s first two games. They have also made good use of their backfield, which is led by Audric Estime. He posted 95 rushing yards and a touchdown against Navy and 116 yards and a touchdown in the win over Tennessee State this Saturday.

The Wolfpack are also 2-0 this season. They notched a resounding 55-3 win over Charleston Southern in Week 0 and a 24-14 win in Storrs against the Connecticut Huskies in Week 1. Things will get much tougher against Notre Dame, which is why the early CFB odds have the Wolfpack as 9-point underdogs.

If they do give the Irish a run for their money, much of the scoring should go through North Carolina State’s new quarterback Brennan Armstrong. The former Virginia Cavalier is one of the premier dual threats in college football. He threw for 152 yards in Saturday’s win over Connecticut while also rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

OddsShopper will keep you posted with Notre Dame-North Carolina State odds movement and best bets as Saturday nears.
