AFC South Betting Odds: Jaguars Take Over As Favorites Following Colts Loss to the Titans on Sunday

The Jacksonville Jaguars were massive underdogs to win the AFC South coming into this season after having disastrous 2021 under Urban Meyer. Four weeks into the year, head coach Doug Pederson appears to have turned the Jags into a legitimate contender to reach the playoffs in his first season at the helm.

The Indianap0lis Colts were the slight favorite to win the AFC South going into last week, but after a loss to the Tennessee Titans pushed them to 1-2, the Jaguars have now taken the thrown in the division.

The Jaguars went up against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. Although the Jags took an early 14-0 lead on the road, they ended up falling 21-29.

Despite losing to a Super Bowl contender in windy and rainy conditions on Sunday, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence wasn't making any excuses after falling to 2-2 on the young season.

“Not really. It rains a ton obviously in Florida,” Lawrence said when asked about the conditions, via PFT. “Today it was the wind and everything, it was pretty brutal. At the end of the day no excuses we’re both playing in it. Like I said just really frustrated right now. Excited to watch the tape and it’s going to be brutal just to watch it and all the missed opportunities and things that we had. I mean with four turnovers and to still have a chance to go with the game at the end it doesn’t usually happen. It shows we played well in other areas. We’ve got to clean that up and we will and I’m confident in that. It definitely sucks right now.”

Even after falling to .500 on the season, the Jaguars remain tied with the Titans for first place in the AFC South. They'll take on the lowly Houston Texans at home this Sunday.
