Stetson Bennett Heisman Odds & Analysis Following Massive Performance On Saturday

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett wasn’t considered much of a Heisman candidate before the season, but that’s changing by the week.

Even though the Bulldogs were heavy favorites on Saturday against the South Carolina Gamecocks, Bennett and his offense were still able to exceed expectations.

During a 49-7 route of South Carolina on Saturday afternoon, Bennett completed 16 of 23 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown. He also added 36 yards and a touchdown rushing.

Following the clean performance, many on social media are deeming Bennett a legitimately Heisman Trophy candidate in the early going of the season, and perhaps he’s among the favorites.

Let’s take a look at where Bennett’s odds to win the exclusive award currently stand.

Stetson Bennett Heisman Trophy Odds

Per FanDuel, Bennett is currently up to +1800 to win the Heisman Trophy this season. Just three players (Bryce Young, Caleb Williams and CJ Stroud) are ahead of him on the list.

Bennett’s Georgia team is also currently the front-runner to win the National Championship and repeat as champs at +180. They’re closely followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide at +200.

Despite the fact that he’s already won one title, Bennett is as motivated then ever to continue his illustrious career at Georgia. And even though he may not get enough credit for all of Georgia’s success over the past two years, Bennett is just focused on winning football games.

“In the end, does it matter? No,” Bennett said via 247 Sports. “We won the national championship. Do I care who gets the credit? No. Am I going to work my butt off to be the best I can every single day for the team? Yes.”

Bennett was listed as high as 200-1 before the season to win the Heisman Trophy at some sports books. As he continues to put together sound performances week after week, that number could continue to rise.
