Aaron Rodgers Next Team Odds: Raiders Take Over As Heavy Favorites

Aaron Rodgers finds himself in a familiar position this offseason: with the entire football world waiting on him to make a decision on his future. The Packers quarterback flirted with retirement and/or a trade demand last offseason, but seemingly put all that noise to bed when signing a massive three-year deal to stay in Green Bay. However, Rodgers and the Packers are once again at an impasse after missing out on the playoffs this season, and the Las Vegas Raiders could be the beneficiaries of the latest dilemma.

Aaron Rodgers Next Team Odds: Raiders in the Driver’s Seat?

DraftKings Sportsbook came out with Aaron Rodgers next team odds when the postseason began. The New York Jets began as the betting favorite after agreeing with Rodgers’s former offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, to take the same position. But now that Tom Brady has decided to hang up the cleats (seemingly for good this time around), the entire quarterback market has changed. The Raiders (-350) are now the heavy favorite in the Rodgers sweepstakes.

Aaron Rodgers has sent cryptic messages about his future since the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs thanks to a Week 18 loss to the Detroit Lions. The quarterback's latest comments included a revelation that he was going on a 'darkness retreat' to help decide a future path for himself.

"It's just sitting in isolation, meditation, dealing with your thoughts," Rodgers said, per ESPN. "It stimulates DMT, so there can be some hallucinations in there but it's just kind of sitting in silence, which most of us never do. We rarely even turn our phone off or put the blinds down to sleep in darkness. I'm really looking forward to it."

Rodgers was coming off back-to-back MVPs at the start of the 2022-23 NFL season but struggled a little to find his usual, elite level of play with a young core of receivers at his disposal. The 39-year-old still completed 64.6% of passes, with 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Rodgers won the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last weekend and admitted he was already been hearing the love from Raiders fans throughout the event.

"I'm not a free agent, I'm under contract with the Packers," Rodgers said. "That gets lost in the conversation a lot. In years past, there's been a couple years where we got ousted from the playoffs by the Niners and then I went and played at Pebble and those years were very razzing, I would say, from the crowd. A lot of Niner yells and other various well-timed trash talk.

"This year was a lot more positive, I think. The sentiment was very positive, people wanting me to get traded to their team, and the Raiders fans were probably the most vocal and the most numerous."

Based on the latest Aaron Rodgers next team odds, the connection between the quarterback and Raiders fans could be a sign of things to come.
