The Anthony Richardson 2023 NFL Draft Odds Rise

Per BetMGM, Richardson opened as a hefty +10000 underdog to being selected first over in the NFL Draft. Those odds moved to +4000 recently. On Wednesday, Richardson now sits at just +700. He’s behind just Bryce Young (-120), C.J. Stroud (+325) and Jalen Carter (+600). Richardson has now moved ahead of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis (+800).

Richardson threw for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions in his lone season as the full-season starter for the Gators. The dual threat added 103 rushes for 659 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

CBS Sports columnist Chris Trapasso recently projected that the Indianapolis Colts would trade up to the first spot in order to draft Anthony Richardson as their franchise quarterback.

“I think Richardson is going to emphatically remove the lid from Lucas Oil Stadium at the NFL combine,” Trapasso wrote. “That will lead to the Colts taking a chance on him, given the hiring of former Eagles [offensive coordinator] Shane Steichen as head coach. Richardson has similarities to Jalen Hurts and All-Pro upside.”

If Richardson is to be selected with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, he would become the first Gator to achieve that honor. Cam Newton spent time with the Gators but eventually transferred to Auburn before he was selected with the first pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Based on the latest Anthony Richardson 2023 NFL Draft odds, he’s still a long shot to be selected over the other star quarterbacks in the running. But the latest jump shows that he isn’t being slept on as a legitimate prospect anymore.
