Chiefs vs. Chargers Thursday Night Football Prop Bet: Betting Against Clyde Edwards-Helaire After Impressive Week

Week 2 will kick off with Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers traveling to Kansas City to take on their division rival, the Chiefs. Both of these teams come into this game with a record of 1-0 and Super Bowl aspirations on their horizon. Below is the best player prop for the Thursday Night Football Game, using OddsShopper’s NFL Player Prop tools.

Best NFL Player Prop | Thursday Night Football Week 2

Clyde Edwards-Helaire O/U 49.5 Yards Rushing

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Play down to 47.5 Rushing Yards.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire had an impressive start to Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Through the first two drives of the game, Edwards-Helaire rushed for 37 yards on five carries and reeled in two catches for 28 yards and a touchdown. After that, he had two carries for five yards. The game got out of hand quickly, so head coach Andy Reid plugged in rookie running back Isiah Pacheco. Veteran Jerick McKinnon received some running work as well. He carried the ball four times for 22 yards.

The game script should be in the Chiefs’ favor on Thursday Night. Now, this usually wouldn’t bode well for us but expect Andy Reid to continue to use Edwards-Helaire on passing downs and use a running back by committee approach like he has during his tenure with the Chiefs. Divisional games tend to play tight. This game has the potential of being a shootout from the start with the offensive firepower that the Chargers have. They’ll be without Keenan Allen due to a hamstring injury, but the Chargers have too much talent on offense to not put up a fight.

The Chargers’ defensive line is star-studded. They bought in Khalil Mack to bolster their defensive front and have four-time pro bowler Joey Bosa opposite of Mack. They’ll be applying pressure to Patrick Mahomes all game long and should give him plenty of opportunities to escape the pocket.

In 12 games last season including the playoffs, Edwards-Helaire stayed under this line in seven of them and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Edwards-Helaire projects for 11 carries and 44 yards.

Best NFL Player Prop Bet: Clyde Edwards-Helaire UNDER 49.5 Yards Rushing (-114)
