Latest Chris Olave Injury Update (8:37 AM Eastern): The Saints are expected to receive the WR’s services on Sunday.

Chris Olave Injury Update

The New Orleans Saints listed Chris Olave as questionable for Sunday with a concussion. Olave remains in the concussion protocol but is trending in the right direction. He was able to log limited practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday before getting in full reps on Friday.

The Saints have several other big names on their injury report, including fellow wide receivers Rashid Shaheed, who is out with a thigh injury, and Michael Thomas, who remains on injured reserve. New Orleans’ offense will also be without running back Kendre Miller.

Is Chris Olave Playing for City on Sunday?

So is Chris Olave playing for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday? I’m not sure. The Saints opted to elevate wide receiver Marquez Callaway from the practice squad on Saturday, which suggests they expect to be shorthanded at the position, but the absence of Shaheed and Thomas may explain the move.

Behind Olave, the Saints only have rookie A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden Jr. and Keith Kirkwood at wide receiver, so regardless of Olave’s status, it makes sense for them to have elevated Callaway. The move likely reflects the reality that Olave is in the concussion protocol, which means the Saints aren’t the final arbiters of whether he is healthy enough to play. Concerningly, at bet365, no receiving yardage props are open for New Orleans.
