NFL Player Props: Jared Goff and Matt Ryan are Prime Candidates to Throw an Interception on Sunday (October 23)

Last week was a brutal week for interception prop bettors. Only 11 quarterbacks threw an interception, while over 50% of quarterbacks threw one in each of the previous weeks. Let’s hope to see this number increase back to the average in Week 7. There are several quarterbacks on Sunday’s slate with intriguing odds that are going up against some tough defenses. Let’s dive into the best NFL quarterback interception props on Sunday.

Best NFL Week 7 Player Props

Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys

The Detroit Lions are coming off a bye week and are headed to AT&T stadium to take on Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. This will be Prescott’s first game back since injuring his thumb in Week 1. Jared Goff has been well protected by his offensive line with only 7 sacks on the season, but today will be his toughest test going up against a Dallas defense that leads the NFL with 24 sacks.

Goff has traditionally struggled on the road and has thrown an interception in each of his first two road games. Knowing that Dallas will be bringing the heat, Goff will need to be on point with his quick decision making. Goff’s receiver core is running thin. D.J. Chark (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve list earlier this week. Josh Reynolds is questionable entering Sunday with a knee injury. This leaves the Lions with Amon-Ra St. Brown to get a majority of the targets.

Books have Goff’s passing attempts set at 35.5 attempts, which means plenty of opportunities for a mistake through the air. There’s no need to worry about the weather as this game will be indoors in Dallas. He has thrown an interception in 4 of their first 5 games. Trevon Diggs hasn’t had a pass deflection or interception in the past two weeks, but the Dallas defense has an interception in four of six games this season. Take Goff to over 0.5 interceptions in this matchup.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans

These two AFC South rivals are meeting for the second time this season with the Indianapolis Colts heading south to take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. The Titans got the best of the Colts in Week 4 with a 24-17 victory on the road in Indianapolis. Matt Ryan went 27-37 with 356 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Colts are sitting at 3-2-1 on the season. The Titans are 3-2 and coming off a bye week after winning three straight.

Ryan has been getting beat up to start the year. He has been sacked 24 times and ranks second in the league with 7 interceptions thrown on the season. To make matters worse, he also has 11 fumbles which leads all quarterbacks. Ryan is coming off a 389-yard and 3 touchdown performance over the Jaguars last week where he threw 58 pass attempts. Oddsmakers have his passing attempts line set at 34.5 attempts for Sunday’s matchup. Jonathan Taylor is set to be back in the lineup after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury, but his return doesn’t worry me given the Titans defense has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards in the league.

A win for Tennessee on Sunday would give them a 1.5-game lead in the division. Their defense has an interception in four of their five games (one being against Ryan in Week 4). Given the Titans had an extra week to prep for this one and Ryan is coming off his best game of the season last week, expect some regression in Ryan’s game in Week 7. Anticipate the turnover woes to continue and for him to throw an interception on the road in this one.
