Super Bowl LVII is still over a week away, but bettors are not bothering to wait before placing some big action on the Philadelphia EaglesKansas City Chiefs matchup. The spread has been bouncing around since the two teams qualified for the Super Bowl, but the Eagles have maintained their status as a slight betting favorite since the jump. The early Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl betting trends show that bettors are favoring Philly, as well.

Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl Betting Trends: Early Action All Over Philly

Per a Caesars Sportsbook report, the Eagles (-1.5) have racked up 74.9% of early bet tickets and 72.2% of the money is on the Eagles to cover the spread, but there are several large wagers on both sides. Per the report, both teams have had at least one bettor put over $150,000 on their spread.

“I’m a little surprised with how lopsided the spread action has been so far,” Adam Pullen, Assistant Director of Trading for Caesars said. “Usually when games are closer to pick, you’re more likely to have balanced action. I guess this is a result with how good the Eagles have looked, but just because the Chiefs only beat the Bengals by 3 at home that shouldn’t be a mark against them. Maybe that’s what people are thinking, that they’re focusing on how they won versus if they won.”

The Eagles have made it look pretty damn easy through their first two games of the postseason. They followed up their 38-7 win over the New York Giants in the NFC Divisional Round with a dominant 31-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the AFC Championship. The most impressive part of the Eagles’ run is that they’ve been able to take care of opponents without leaning on star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who only has a combined 275 yards in the playoffs thus far. But regardless of how great the Eagles have looked, it certainly won’t come as easy against the Chiefs, and they’re fully expecting a dogfight.

“Obviously, they’ve been really good for a long time, great organization,” head coach Nick Sirianni said, per the team’s website. “Coach Reid is a great coach, and (Kansas City quarterback) Patrick Mahomes is one of the best players in the world, (Kansas City tight end) Travis Kelce, (Kansas City defensive tackle) Chris Jones. They have good players everywhere, and really good coaching.

“We’re just in our early stages of studying them, having a couple weeks here. Yesterday (Monday) was more of a review of the game day and doing some of the logistics things and then with everything, but then today, we’re in our early stages of studying the Chiefs, and that’s where we are right now. But really good team, obviously, as you would expect, as they’re in the Super Bowl.”

The Eagles are getting more public action in the early Super Bowl betting trends, but expect some more money to come in on Mahomes and the Chiefs before next Sunday.
