Tyler Lockett vs. DK Metcalf: Who Has More Fantasy Football, DFS Value in TNF?

Seattle Seahawks receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett could be in for a rough night against the rival San Francisco 49ers and their elite defense. Let’s take a look at the Tyler LockettDK Metcalf fantasy football and DFS rankings ahead of the Seahawks-49ers game on Thursday Night Football to see which one carries more value.

Tyler LockettDK Metcalf Fantasy Football & DFS Ranking

Per our Stokastic weekly receiver rankings, DK Metcalf (No. 16 on the board) ranks slightly ahead of Tyler Lockett (No. 20). In our free player compare tool, it’s Lockett (13.66 points) who projects to have slightly more fantasy points than Metcalf (13.21 points).

Using our expert DFS projections, Lockett ($10,200) is viewed as a slightly better option over Metcalf ($10,000) ahead of the DFS showdown slate.

Both Lockett and Metcalf are enjoying another solid year as an elite one-two punch for the Seahawks. Lockett ranks 8th in fantasy points among all NFL wide receivers, while Metcalf ranks 12th. It’s been Metcalf who has been the beneficiary of some injuries to running backs in the past two games. The more physical of the two receivers is coming off touchdowns in back-to-back games, hauling in five receptions for 71 yards in the team’s loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.

The veteran Lockett has been a steady presence for Geno Smith in his first year as the QB1 in Seattle. Lockett has 71 receptions on 99 targets for 896 yards and eight touchdowns. After completing a season-low 58.6% of his passes in the loss to Carolina, Smith will have his work cut out for him when trying to get the ball to Lockett and Metcalf against a 49ers defense that allows just 211.8 passing yards per game.

Expect both Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf to get their fair share of targets on Thursday night, but Smith is going to have to elevate his play from last week’s performance for either to stand out in the stat sheet. If you do happen to be choosing between those two in fantasy football or DFS, go with Lockett based on our projections.
