2023 Masters Odds: Rickie Fowler on the Rise After Upsetting Jon Rahm in Match Play

PGA fan-favorite Rickie Fowler has had a stark fall from grace since being considered one of the top up-and-comers in the game earlier in his career, but he may be on the verge of a resurgence. The 34-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the PGA season and may find himself in the field for this year’s Masters Tournament after missing out on the prestigious event in 2022.

Fowler saw a rise in his 2023 Masters odds after pulling off an upset over Jon Rahm in the first round of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play event Wednesday.

Rickie Fowler 2023 Masters Odds Spike After Match Play Win

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Rickie Fowler now sits at +6500 to win the Masters. He was listed at +7500 when sportsbooks first dropped the lines. Check out the full Masters odds below:

The easiest way for Fowler to now qualify for the Masters would be to reach the quarterfinals of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play tournament. The Masters offers an automatic bid to the top 50 ranked players in the world, and Fowler would project inside that mark with a quarterfinal trip this weekend.

"My short-term goal is to obviously get myself back in Augusta," Fowler said to Golf Digest. "I knew I needed to come here and play well. I wasn't sure of exactly what I needed to do. The nice thing with the kind of World Rankings and what's coming off, really, anything I do that puts points on the board is only going to move me up from here moving forward."

Although Fowler is facing an uphill battle to reach The Masters, he has a lot of reason to feel positive about where his game is headed. He is coming off top-20 finishes in four of his past five tournaments, including a 13th-place finish at the PLAYERS Championship earlier in the month.

The latest 2023 Masters Tournament odds show Rickie Fowler is trending in the right direction ahead of the event. His best finish at Augusta National came in 2018, when he finished one shot shy of winner Patrick Reed for second place. He has not found himself at the top of very many leaderboards since that event but appears to have found some lost confidence, which was evident with his win over Rahm on Wednesday.
