Biggest Tiger Woods Bet: One Bettor Felt Extremely Confident in Tiger’s Chances

Tiger Woods currently has the sports world watching as he limps his way through Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California at the Genesis Invitational. It is the first time Woods is competing on the PGA Tour since his disappointing missed cut in The Open Championship last season. There were plenty of excited golf bettors throwing around loads of money on Woods in his PGA Tour, but one Tiger Woods bettor went above and beyond.

Bettor Goes Big On Tiger Woods-Genesis Invitational Bet

Per DraftKings, one bettor at their sportsbook threw a massive $3,350 on Tiger Woods to win the Genesis Invitational at +15000. The bet would pay out $505,850.

Woods admitted prior to the Thursday tee time that he was still rusty out on the course. But make no mistake: Tiger still thinks he has what it takes to compete with the sport’s best.

“As you watch that PNC, I was able to play out of the cart and hit shots and do whatever I wanted, but I just didn’t have the endurance in my ankle, so we’ve been working on that,” Woods said per ESPN. “I can still hit shots, but it’s the walking endurance that’s hard. That’s something that we’ve had to work on — walking distances on the beach, just basically stress it out but also be able to recover by the next day and see how it is inflammation-wise and then keep practicing. I may have overdone it a couple of times here or there, but here I am.”

Playing alongside PGA stars and close personal friends, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, in the first round, Woods has proven his ball-striking is still capable of being elite. The next step for him is being able to walk through a course for a full weekend without having any issues with his surgically-repaired leg.

The return to the PGA has many golf fans excited and presents sportsbooks with a clear liability if he’s competing come Sunday. The biggest Tiger Woods bet going viral during the first round proves that people still think we’ll see the GOAT win a tournament again. And if he can string together some birdies throughout the weekend, it would set us up for one hell of a spectacle.
