No House Advantage World Cup Player Props

Ibou Konate Over 78.5 Passes

Our first World Cup player prop is for Ibou Konate of France to attempt more than 78.5 passes against Tunisia. After being dropped for Raphael Varane against Denmark, the Liverpool center-back is rumored to be returning to the starting eleven on Wednesday.

Konate attempted 100 passes in France’s first match versus Australia, a match they controlled 62% of the possession in. Considering Tunisia only controlled 39% of the ball against Denmark, would expect France’s ball control to be similar in this one.

While Konate usually attempts 69.14 passes per 90 minutes, take it with a grain of salt. Virgil van Dijk does most of the passing in the Liverpool back-line, which alters his attempts. Tunisia are not the worst side defensively, which could cause the ball to swing around the back more often than not.

Paulo Dybala Under 2.5 Shots

Next, our second World Cup player prop is for Paulo Dybala to stay under 2.5 total shots for Argentina, in their match versus Poland. Dybala has yet to see the field at this World Cup and will only be drawn on as a dire option if the Albicelestes desperately need a goal. In fact, in the last two years, Dybala has only played over 45 minutes for Argentina once.

Moreover, you have to look back all the way into 2019 to find the last time Dybala took more than two shots in an international game where individual stats were tracked. If Dybala played more, this would surely be an attractive prop. The Roma creator shoots about 4.05 times per 90 minutes, which is more than enough to take a risk on it. Unfortunately, he is just so out of favor with his country, which makes it too easy to fade.

Hector Herrera Under 1.5 Shots

Again, this World Cup player prop is not overly complicated as we are riding with Hector Herrera to stay under 1.5 total shots vs Saudi Arabia. While Herrera is an important player for El Tri, he has yet to shoot at this World Cup.

Also, in the past year he has only averaged 1.45 total shots per 90 minutes. It is important to note that half of these stats are pulled from MLS matches, as he plays in the midfield for the Houston Dynamo. Not a slight to the MLS, but it is a much easier league to create shots in than in La Liga at Atletico Madrid, where Herrera formerly played.

Herrera plays in a deeper role at Mexico, where his only real shooting chances are going to be from deep. Saudi Arabia’s defense just seems too organized to allow that to happen multiple times.
