Swiatek won the first set in her Round of 16 match with Jelena Ostapenko and looked well on her way to advancing to the quarterfinals. That changed quickly after Ostapenko broke Swiatek’s serve in the second set to win six games to three. Ostapenko then went on to win the third set in resounding fashion, taking out the tournament’s favorite 6-1.

Following the upset, Cori Gauff (+250) has taken over the mantle as the top player on the tennis odds board. Gauff earned a comeback victory of her own, beating Caroline Wozniacki in three sets on Sunday. The victory sets up a matchup with Ostapenko (+1000) in the quarterfinals.

Aryna Sabalenka (+256) is just below Gauff in the U.S. Open Women’s Champion odds. The two are followed by a trio of players between 5-1 and 7-1. Marketa Vondrousova (+500), Karolina Muchova (+600) and Madison Keys (+700) round out the top 5 on the odds board.

The bottom of the list is filled out by a number of candidates between 10-1 and 35-1. The aforementioned Ostapenko (+1000) enters the quarters in a dead heat with Qinwen Zheng to take down the tournament championship. She and Zheng are followed by Sorana Cirstea (+2500) and Daria Kasatkina (+3500).
