2022 MLB Division Series Odds: Dodgers, Braves, Astros, Yankees Favored Against Wild Card Winners

The MLB Division Series field is set following the San Diego Padres’ 6-0, one-hit win against the New York Mets in Game 3 of that Wild Card Series on Sunday.

The Padres became the fourth and final team to survive the new Wild Card Round, and the only one to need three games to do so.

The Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians swept their opponents in the best-of-3 round. The Indians were the only team with home-field advantage to advance.

The Wild Card winners each will face a team that received a bye into the Division Series. Play begins Tuesday in a 2-2-1 format.

Here are those matchups and the opening odds for the four best-of-5 series (via FanDuel):

NLDS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres

Dodgers -215, Padres +180

National League favorite Los Angeles finished 22 games ahead of San Diego to win the NL West and earn its bye. That MLB-largest division win was helped by a 14-5 record against the Southern California rival.

Dodgers likely Game 1 starter Jose Urias was 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA in four starts against the Padres. The Los Angeles staff had a 1.92 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over the 19 games.

Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts combined to bat .338 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs.

The Dodgers could get back pitchers Dustin May (back), Blake Treinen (shoulder) and outfielder Chris Taylor (neck), according to The Athletic.

The Padres responded after a 7-2 loss in Game 2 to eliminate the Mets. In Game 3, Joe Musgrove became the first pitcher in history to throw seven scoreless innings with one hit allowed in a winner-take-all postseason game.

Yu Darvish started and won Game 1 on Thursday, 7-1, and could be in line to open this series. He won one of four starts against Los Angeles this season but had a 2.52 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 25 innings.

San Diego batted .193 against Los Angeles, and outfielder Juan Soto hit .184 with no extra base hits and no RBIs in 13 games after arriving at the Trade Deadline from the Washington Nationals.

NLDS: Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Braves -186, Phillies +158

Atlanta finished 14 games ahead of third-place Philadelphia in winning the NL East and securing a bye. The Braves were 11-8 against the Phillies.

Atlanta pitcher Spencer Strider has been out since Sept. 18 with an oblique injury but The Athletic reported the Braves are optimistic he can pitch in this series. The rookie right-hander was 4-0 with a 1.27 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 21.1 innings against Philadelphia this season.

Third baseman Austin Riley batted .351 against the Phillies but hit only one of his season’s 38 home runs against them in 19 games.

Philadelphia scored six runs in the ninth inning of Game 1 for a 6-3 win, and used a combined seven-hit shutout to eliminate the St. Louis Cardinals with a 2-0 win in Game 2.

Kyle Schwarber hit six of his NL-leading 46 homers against Atlanta but had just two hits in 57 other at-bats (.035). Starting pitchers Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola, who did not allow any runs in the Cardinals series, had an ERA of 3.31 in eight starts facing the Braves.

Max Fried will start Game 1 for Atlanta against Ranger Suarez for Philadelphia.

ALDS: Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners

Astros -225, Mariners +186

Houston is the favorite to win the American League after earning a bye with its AL West title. The Astros were 12-7 against the Mariners this season and finished 16 games ahead of them in the division.

Game 1 starter Justin Verlander won five of his six starts facing Seattle, and Houston DH Yordan Alvarez had five home runs and 13 RBIs with a .327/.438/.654 slash line.

Seattle advanced by rallying to eliminate the Toronto Blue Jays with a 10-9 win in Game 2 after trailing 8-1 after five innings. Luis Castillo pitched 7.1 innings in a 4-0 shutout in Game 1.

Logan Gilbert, who was 2-1 with a 2.52 ERA in four starts against the Astros, is likely to start Game 1. First baseman Ty France had four homers, 12 RBIs and a .338/.392/.535 slash line facing Houston.

ALDS: New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Indians

Yankees -220, Indians +182

The Yankees won the AL East to get their bye. The Indians won the AL Central and swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card Series, winning Game 2 1-0 on a walk off home run by rookie Oscar Gonzalez in the 15th inning.

New York won five of six games against Cleveland this season, with starters Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes and Jameson Taillon going 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA.

Indians ace Shane Bieber, who won Game 1 against the Rays 2-1, did not face the Yankees this season. Triston McKenzie, who started and threw six scoreless innings in Game 2, allowed one hit over seven innings against New York on July 3.

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge hit two of his AL record 62 home runs against the Indians but batted .235 (4-for-17).

MLB.com reported that Aroldis Chapman will not be on the Yankees ALDS roster after the reliever did not pitch live batting practice as scheduled and went home to Miami. Infielder Matt Carpenter (foot) and relievers Clay Holmes (shoulder) and Wandy Peralta (back) are likely to be on the roster.

Cole will start Game 1 for New York. The Indians have not announced their starter.
