We’re back in the MLB betting streets after a short break, but we’re still running hot! Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Texas Rangers First Inning Bet
The last time we saw Nathan Eovaldi, he was allowing a run in the first inning against the Houston Astros. In his four postseason starts this year, Eovaldi has allowed seven runs in 26 innings. He’s been incredibly sharp for most of the playoffs and is 3-1 on his NRFI chances. He’ll be relieved to see he doesn’t have to face the gauntlet of a lineup like he had against the Astros for two straight starts. The Diamondbacks have been solid offensively, but they’re not Houston. The left-handed batters atop the D-backs lineup don’t scare me much, as Eovaldi is a reverse-splits pitcher. He’s far better against lefties: .201 average, .324 slugging. He can get us three quick outs and get us to the bottom half.
So Zac Gallen hasn’t been very Zac Gallen-like throughout this postseason — especially in the first inning. He’s 1-3 on NRFIs this postseason, but that Phillies lineup he faced twice was just on another level for a bit. Sadly, it’s going to be a tough test again, as the Texas Rangers will send some mashers to the plate. Gallen has held the Rangers to a .256 average in 86 career at-bats, so he has proven he can get them out — and that includes 25 strikeouts. Somehow, he registered two starts against the Rangers this season and went 1-1 on NRFI chances. I know this Rangers lineup is tough, but we know NRFIs hit more frequently than YRFIs do.
