Brenton Doyle H/L Than 1.5 Total Bases

It hasn’t been a fun three games for Brenton Doyle, the past two coming against the Guardians, as he’s failed to notch two-plus total bases. He has just a single across the three games, and Colorado and Cleveland play the rubber match of this three-game series. Doyle will have to face a decent Logan Allen for the Guardians, and while the game is still in Colorado, we like Doyle to continue to struggle at the plate. It’s a tough matchup overall against one of the better road teams in the Guardians.

We love the 27% strikeout rate for Doyle at the plate, helped by the fantastic edge we get against the market. Thanks to OddsShopper’s MLB pick’em tool, we find a 9.3% EV edge, which makes this our top play on the board. The -122 implied odds beat the -150 true odds, establishing that +EV edge we can exploit. This is a profitable position to take every time.

Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Prediction: Brenton Doyle LOWER Than 1.5 Total Bases

Yandy Diaz H/L Than 1.5 Total Bases

There is more value in fading another total bases play, this time with the Tampa Bay Rays. The Athletics just blanked Tampa 3-0 on Tuesday, and despite getting a hit, Diaz was held to less than 1.5 total bags for the third straight game. As one of the team’s best hitters, including for power, Diaz has been struggling to piece together multi-hit games.

Sure, there’s an expected bounce back against a horrible Oakland team, but that shouldn’t immediately correlate to Diaz hitting a home run. Jody Estes gets the nod for the A’s, and we have limited action from him overall this year.

The problem here is that the team is in a tailspin right now, losing games mostly because it can’t generate runs. Diaz is in the thick of that, with a rare offensive explosion still resulting in a loss. Part of this is just riding the current level of play not meeting expectations for both team and player, the other part is the break we get against the market.

This is a 4% EV edge that we found thanks to the MLB pick’em tool. We get a break in fading a popular name but mainly because of the -122 implied odds beating the -133 true odds. That opens this spot for us to attack, building profit over time.

Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Prediction: Yandy Diaz LOWER Than 1.5 Total Bases
