Best Clippers-Lakers Player Prop: How Many Shots Will Ivica Zubac Swat?

The Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers will do battle in the Crypto.com Arena tonight. Neither team has looked particularly impressive this season and either or both may end up competing in the play-in tournament. The Clippers are five-point “road” favorites tonight. Bettors looking to score some value on Tuesday’s late game should target this Clippers-Lakers NBA player prop for the Battle of Los Angeles, as the books have left too much value on the player prop markets for Ivica Zubac. Best Clippers-Lakers NBA Player Prop | Ivica Zubac

Ivica Zubac Prop O/U 1.5 Blocks

The Los Angeles Clippers signed their starting center, Ivica Zubac, to a three-year, $33 million extension in the offseason. The big man has averaged 29.2 minutes per game this season, a big step up from the 24.4 he averaged for them last year. Zubac’s extended playing time has resulted in an uptick in his defensive output.

Zubac is averaging 1.3 blocks per game this year. He racked up an impressive five blocks in the season-opening game against the Los Angeles Lakers and added another two in the rematch just weeks later. While Zubac has averaged only 0.7 blocks per game in January through 11 starts, the big man still swatted two-plus shots three times.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been vulnerable to blocks all season because they lack perimeter shooting. The Lakers rank 25th in total blocks allowed per game (5.3) and 26th in blocks allowed to centers (2.3). Their offense has proven especially blockable lately — through their last seven contests, opposing centers have swatted 3.1 shots per game. For example, Portland’s Drew Eubanks racked up six on Sunday, and Houston’s Alperen Sengün swatted four last Tuesday.

The books have the line for this prop set to 1.5 but with the juice stacked on the under. The over sits just shy of +200 at DraftKings Sportsbook but should sit closer to +170 or so. You won’t find a better deal elsewhere, so head there before the line gets bid down. If you haven’t registered with DraftKings yet, new users can get $200 in bonus bets with a $5 wager!
