Knicks-Nets Predictions and Odds: The Jacque Vaughn Grind?

The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets will face off for the first time Wednesday night in Brooklyn. Using data and other tools, in this post we’ll be making our Knicks-Nets prediction and picks.

The Knicks are 5-5 coming off an impressive road win at Minnesota on Monday night 120-107.  The Nets are 4-7, (2-2 since firing Steve Nash) coming off a 2-point loss on the road to the Mavericks 96-94 on Monday.

This line opened with Brooklyn as -2.5-point home favorites and early money is on the Nets who are now -3.5. The total opened at 225.0 then dropped to 221.5. The Nets will be without Kyrie Irving, T.J. Warren, and Yuta Watanbe. The Knicks list Mitchell Robinson as OUT and Quentin Grimes as a game time decision. Bettors should head to DraftKings Sportsbook to tail the following Knicks-Nets odds and predictions.

Best Knicks-Nets Predictions & Odds

Knicks are middle of the pack after 10 games

The Knicks come into tonight’s game with a 5-5 record. On top of that, they are 16th in offensive rating, 16th in defensive rating, and 15th in net rating. The takeaway on the Knicks so far is that when they lose, they get blown out by 10.6 points per game. The majority of losses came on the road, but they had a brutal schedule (Memphis, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Minnesota). The Knicks are led by the trio of Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Julius Randle, who are all averaging around 20.0 points per game.

Nets are 2-2 since firing Steve Nash

Turmoil surrounded this team all season, but they look to have circled the wagons since firing Steve Nash and suspending Kyrie Irving. They were 32nd in defensive rating and climbed up to 22nd. Over the last three games , they allowed 86, 94, and 96 points. Because they do not have any scoring coming from Irving or Ben Simmons, this team has no choice but to buckle down on the defensive end if they want to win games.

Final Prediction & Pick

The Nets officially hired Jacque Vaughn as head coach on Wednesday and look to finally have bought in to playing on the defensive side of the ball. But they are still short handed and this is not a true road game for the Knicks. I love the under in the game tonight with a slight lean on the Knicks getting +3.5.

Knicks-Nets Prediction: UNDER 221.5; Additional Bets: Knicks +3.5
