LeBron James has scored at least 28 points in each of the past three Lakers games, including scoring 29 points, with eight rebounds and six assists in the team’s 130-119 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

Since leaving the Cavaliers on two separate occasions after being drafted by them, LeBron is 17-2 when they match up, but took the loss when the Lakers hosted Cleveland last month. LeBron averages 29.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 7.4 assists when he plays against his old team.

After the weekend win, James talked up the Cavaliers before adding that he was excited to return home.

“It’s a very good team, very well orchestrated team, and they’ve been playing good basketball for the majority of the season so far, and we’re starting to play some good basketball. It’s always good to go back, we have a lot of history, it’s very close to my hometown, and a lot of my friends and family will be at the game so it’s always good to be able to still play in front of them. They’ve seen me from the first time I ever picked up a basketball until now, so it’s special in its own right,” he said via Lakers Nation.

Unlike his return in previous years, LeBron James will now be loved and celebrated by the Cavaliers faithful, in what should be a fun return for everyone involved. Perhaps he’ll put on a patented performance in front of the adoring crowd, as well.
