Nicolas Claxton Over 1.5 Blocked Shots

Regardless of center rotations or how many minutes Ben Simmons sees at the five, one thing is for certain: Nicolas Claxton is truly a defensive menace down in the paint. He’s averaging 2.3 blocks this year in 27.9 minutes per game. He’s averaged two or more blocks in all three months of the season so far. Claxton has played in nine games this month, and he’s blocked at least two shots in eight of those nine outings while averaging 2.6 blocks per game. And on the whole season, he has a 71% hit rate on this line.

Tonight Claxton gets to face the Hawks, who have allowed 5.1 opponent blocks per game this year. That is the sixth-most blocks per game allowed in the NBA. OddsShopper lists this play at -148 on Caesars and -135 on DraftKings, and it has a 60% chance to win.

DeMar DeRozan Over 24.5 Points

It’s been a tough season thus far for the Chicago Bulls, and considering they match up with the Bucks tonight, it’s not getting easier any time soon. One player that may be excited for this matchup, however, is DeMar DeRozan. He is averaging 26 points per game this season, and that average is up to 27.4 points per game over his last five outings. DeRozan has a usage rate of 28.1% the last two weeks, which leads the Bulls. During that time span, he has put up over 18 field goal attempts in 38 minutes per game.

DeRozan has played well against this Bucks core over the last year or so, as he’s had 25 or more points against them in four of five matchups since joining the Bulls. He’s averaged 32.2 points per game on a whopping 24 field goal attempts per game in those five outings. OddsShopper has this play at -137 on Caesars and -135 on DraftKings. It currently has a 54% chance to win.
