Best PrizePicks NBA Props: Tyler Herro’s Shot Volume Miami’s One Constant

There are nine games on deck in the NBA tonight, and a couple of them stand out in particular when checking out player props. The Orlando Magic will heavily feature Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Bol Bol against the Wizards tonight after a few players got suspended due to fighting in their last game. Shortly after, Tyler Herro and the Miami Heat will tip off against the Denver Nuggets, who are currently the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Below bettors can check out some of the best NBA player props and bets to make for Friday, Dec. 30.

PrizePicks NBA Player Props | Dec. 30

Bol Bol Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds

The Orlando Magic had a strange game last time out, as they got into a bench-clearing brawl with members of the Detroit Pistons. The fight led to suspensions for multiple players, including Wendell Carter Jr., Moritz Wagner and Mo Bamba. The one thing those players have in common is that they all play center. Due to the lack of bigs tonight, this Magic frontcourt should be anchored by Banchero and Bol, with Bol seeing 30 or more minutes at center.

In 186 minutes this season with Carter, Wagner and Bamba off of the floor, Bol has a defensive rebounding percentage of 23%. That rate is 7 percentage points higher than the next leading rebounder in this situation. In terms of offense when the Orlando bigs aren’t playing, Bol has attempted the second-most field goal attempts and has the highest field goal percentage on the team. With a more significant role carved out for him, expect Bol to take advantage of his opportunity against a Wizards team that is giving up over 40 points/rebounds per game to opposing centers.

Tyler Herro Over 19.5 Points

By now, fans and bettors should be familiar with the strange antics surrounding the Miami Heat injury report. It’s no different tonight, as they have seven players listed. Regardless of who plays, however, this matchup is an ideal one for Tyler Herro. He is averaging 21 points, 17 field goal attempts (including eight 3-point attempts) and playing around 35 minutes per game. Over his last three games, Herro has averaged 19.6 field goal attempts per game but has shot under 40%. He’s still averaging 20 points per game even with that field goal percentage being around 7 percentage points lower than the 46% he shot in the month of December.

Tonight he gets to face the Nuggets, who have allowed over 50 points per game to guards this year. They’ve allowed 119 points per game over their last three, which is a bottom-10 mark in the NBA over that span. OddsShopper lists this play at -140 on DraftKings.
