Colorado State-Boise State Prediction and Odds: Avery Morrow The Key

Conference races are heating up and the Mountain West is one conference where nobody has really separated from the pack too much just yet. In this post, we will continue our college football odds series by showcasing our best Colorado State-Boise State prediction and picks.

There have been a number of teams who can beat each other, and this had made for a very unpredictable season. In this matchup, the Colorado State Rams matchup with the Boise State Broncos which is scheduled for a 6pm CST kick. Boise State is the frontrunner in the conference but there is still a lot of football left to be played. While Colorado State comes in with a 2-5 record, they’re 2-1 in conference play and could potentially compete for a Mountain West Title if they win out.

Colorado State-Boise State Prediction and Pick

Rams Building Momentum Off Avery Morrow

No matter who you are playing, a win is a win and Colorado State is feeling confident after a 17-13 win against Hawaii last weekend. Although Hawaii has been less than impressive this season, any conference win is a good win. Although the offense needs to step up this weekend, this low scoring affair was a step in the right direction for a defense that ranks 94th in the country in points given up per game.

A major key to victory last week was the ability of running back Avery Morrow to find space in the run game. Morrow rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Rams went on to grab their second win of the season and an important conference game for this team. The Rams will need continue to play like this when establishing a run game but will be in for a test as Boise State ranks 22nd in the FBS in total rush defense.

Broncos Stacking Wins

It has been 3 straight wins for Boise State and the Broncos now sit at 4-0 in conference play and control their own destiny in their hunt for a conference title. After a start to the season that was below their standards, the Broncos have caught their stride and have played some very consistent football over the past few weeks.

Last week was a close 19-14 win over Air Force but the Falcons rank 10th in the country in total defense so it was a solid win for Boise State against a competitive program. Boise State also has a strong defense themselves, as the Broncos are 3rd in the country in total defense and have been giving up only 18 points per game. This is a Boise State team who has struggled to pick up yards as an offense but if their defense can shut down Colorado State and create short fields, the Broncos will look to capitalize.

Colorado State-Boise State Prediction

This is going to be an important conference matchup as Colorado State can potentially still be alive in the Mountain West race. Boise State hosts as 27-point favorites and there is a 43-point game total for this contest. This game total here is low but not surprising as both of these teams have been accustomed to some lower scoring affairs this season.

Although both offenses aren’t the most explosive in the country, I do see both teams finding some success throughout this game and I see this game finishing just over the 43-point total. The Colorado State Rams are heavy underdogs in this game. While Boise State is 5-2 against the spread so far this season and I see them closing out a victory, I see the Rams building off of their win last week and keeping it competitive for a chunk of this game which is why I am taking Colorado State +27 in this Saturday Mountain West clash.

Best Colorado State-Boise State Prediction: Colorado State +27 points and Game Total Over 43-point total
