Dak Prescott Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook After Injury

Dak Prescott looks prepared to return at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in NFL Week 7 against the Detroit Lions and has an encouraging fantasy football outlook.

On Wednesday, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Prescott has been medically cleared to play Sunday following a thumb injury suffered in Week 1.

Cooper Rush had a nice run during his time filling in for Prescott, with Dallas winning four of five games and staying in the NFC playoff conversation. Rush did not play well during a Week 6 loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Prescott.

Let’s move on to our Dak Prescott Week 7 fantasy football outlook.

Dak Prescott Fantasy Football Week 7

In our Stokastic NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 7, Prescott is the ninth quarterback on the board, making him a starter in his return to action.

It also helps that he’s set to go up against a weak Lions defense, which ranks 31st in fantasy football points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, even after limiting Bailey Zappe of the New England Patriots to just 10.02 in Week 6.

Last season, Prescott was seventh in fantasy football points among quarterbacks. He had 4,449 passing yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He ran for 146 yards and one touchdown.

The main concern around Prescott’s thumb injury was whether or not he could properly grip the football. He was well enough to throw with the rehab group last week, with McCarthy saying at the time Prescott was still in the “medical, rehab phase.” But it now seems like all systems go.

Dallas opened as a 7-point favorite against Detroit.
