Kenyan Drake, Gus Edwards, & Justice Hill Fantasy Football Ranking Following J.K. Dobbins Injury News

When Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins went down due to injury in last week’s loss to the New York Jets, Kenyan Drake shined in his opportunity.

The veteran back ran for 119 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries, which made him a popular fantasy football waiver wire pickup ahead of Week 7. But even with Dobbins being placed on the IR earlier in the week, Drake will have some more competition in the backfield. The Ravens announced ahead of their game against the Cleveland Browns that both Justice Hill and Gus Edwards would be back in action.

With Dobbins out with injury, expect Drake to receive most of the workload on Sunday. Per Stokastic’s NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 7, Drake (No. 28 on the board) ranks ahead of both Hill and Edwards, but expect the platoon situation to make it harder for Drake to go off like he did in Week 6.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh called it a “good problem to have” when speaking about the depth he currently has at the running back position even with Dobbins sidelined.

Edwards missed all of the 2020 season rehabbing from an ACL injury, but he started 16 games and showed his worth the previous year. Used primarily as a goal line and third down back, Edwards rushed for 723 yards and six touchdowns.

Against a favorable defense in the Browns, Drake likely still maintains his role as the top fantasy football option out of all Ravens running backs, but he could easily be phased out if either Hill or Edwards have the hot hand.
