Mark Ingram Fantasy Football Ranking & Analysis For Week 2 After Alvin Kamara Was Ruled Out

The New Orleans Saints will be without their best running back option, Alvin Kamara, for their Week 2 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Kamara will be held out of the game with a rib injury suffered in Week 1. While backup Mark Ingram has also been dealing with a nagging ankle injury, he is expected to be a full go for Sunday.

Given the recent injury news, let’s take an updated look at where Ingram ranks for fantasy football on Sunday.

Mark Ingram Fantasy Football Ranking

Per our Stokastic NFL Sit ’em Start ’em Fantasy Football rankings for Week 2, we have Ingram rated as the 35th running back on the board for Week 2 going up against a tough Buccaneers defensive front.

Last season, Ingram had the worst mark of his career with a mere 3.5 yards per carry. During split time with the Houston Texans and Saints, Ingram ran the ball 160 times for 554 yards and just two touchdowns on the season. He added 27 receptions for 162 yards, as well.

During his first stint with the Saints, Ingram had been in more of a platoon role with Kamara in a lethal Saints backfield. But at this stage of his career, Ingram is in a more clear backup role, showing that he simply isn’t the same runner that he used to be.

Still, Ingram will have a golden opportunity on Sunday to be the Saints featured back in an important division game. But fantasy football owners will likely be relying on a touchdown if they want high production out of Ingram on Sunday.
