Kadarius Toney Fantasy Football Ranking & Analysis After Being Traded From Giants to Chiefs

The New York Giants weren’t seeing much production out of wide receiver Kadarius Toney in first-year head coach Brian Daboll’s system, and the Kansas City Chiefs are continuing to fill the void left by WR Tyreek Hill in the offseason. So it wasn’t overly surprising when it was announced Thursday afternoon that the Chiefs and Giants agreed on a trade to send Toney to Kansas City.

Given the move, let’s take a look at Toney’s fantasy football rankings.

Kadarius Toney Fantasy Football Ranking Following Chiefs Trade

Through seven weeks of the NFL season, Toney has played in one game, with one reception on three targets for zero yards. He doesn’t rank in the top 60 receivers for Week 8 per our Stokastic NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings, but perhaps he’ll see an uptick in production following the move to Andy Reid’s high-powered offense.

In 2021, Toney was able to haul in 39 receptions on 57 targets for 420 yards.

“Kadarius is working his way back,” Daboll said, referencing the time Toney was forced to miss in the spring and summer due to a knee issue. Evidently, Giants receivers such as Richie James were able to pass Toney on the depth chart.

He’ll now join the likes of a resurgent JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Mecole Hardman on a potent Chiefs offense.

Perhaps one man’s trash is another man’s treasure with Toney, and we’ll see if Reid is able to utilize him in ways Daboll could not. Until we see that come to fruition on Sundays, he’ll remain a non-factor for fantasy football.
