Best NHL Bets Today | November 19

Best Kings-Kraken Bet: Under 6 (-110, DraftKings)

There is a Pacific Division tilt with the third-place Seattle Kraken hosting the second-place Los Angeles Kings. Both teams enter this contest amidst a flurry of low-scoring contests as there have been six or fewer total goals scored in four of Los Angeles’ last six games and in each of Seattle’s last six.

Those trends should continue in this matchup as both teams rank in the top eight in the league in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60) at 5v5. Backing up the Kraken’s strong defense is goaltender Martin Jones, who is slated to start between the pipes on Saturday night.

Through 14 appearances in the crease this season, Jones is 8-4-2 with a .912 SV% and 2.33 GAA. There have now been six or fewer total goals scored in each of his last seven starts.

Among starting goaltenders, he ranks ninth in goals saved above expected per 60 minutes (GSAx/60) at 5v5. This strong goaltending should continue against the Kings, a team he has dominated throughout his career.

Across 30 starts against Los Angeles, Jones is 20-7-3 with a .926 SV% and 2.29 GAA. With two strong defenses and a Jones in net for Seatle, back the trends and take the under at six.

Philadelphia Flyers at Montreal Canadiens: Canadiens ML (-135, DraftKings)

There is an Eastern Conference tilt with the Atlantic Division’s Montreal Canadiens hosting the Metropolitan Division’s Philadelphia Flyers. Philadelphia enters this contest amidst a five-game losing streak, which should continue in this matchup.

Slated to start between the pipes for the Flyers is goaltender Carter Hart. While he has been terrific this season, it has not been smooth sailing during the losing streak.

Over his last four starts, Hart is 0-3-1 with a .873 SV% and 3.74 GAA. To be fair, these numbers are not necessarily an indictment on Hart as the defense in front of him has been terrible.

At 5v5, Philadelphia ranks just 27th in the league in xGA/60. Their offense has not been much better as they rank 28th in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) at 5v5.

While the Habs are not world-beaters, they still rank higher than the Flyers in each of those two key metrics. Projected to take the crease for Montreal is goaltender Jake Allen.

Through 11 starts this season, Allen is 5-6 with a .901 SV% and 3.29 GAA. While those are not the most impressive numbers, he is good enough to stifle an unimpressive Philadelphia offense.
