Arnold Palmer Invitational Bets: Bettor in For Wild Pay Day if Scottie Scheffler Repeats

Scottie Scheffler was able to take win the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational near the beginning of his dominant season a year ago, and one bettor would make a crazy amount of dough if the young golf phenom can repeat. There are plenty of 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational bets on Scheffler to repeat, but none come close to what one bettor at FanDuel Sportsbook was willing to wager.

Arnold Palmer Invitational Bets: Scottie Scheffler

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, one bettor on their sportsbook wagered a wild $200k on Scheffler (+750) to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The bet would pay off a whopping $1.7 Million if Scheffler is to win the tournament once again.

Scheffler has backed up his strong 2022 PGA season admirably to kick off the 2023 campaign. He has already won the WM Phoenix Open, finishing top 10 on three separate occasions. But Scheffler has not played a tournament since finishing 12th at the Genesis Invitational last month.

The 26-year-old proved he can handle the notoriously windy conditions at Bay Hill with the best of em’ with his win last year and feels poised to compete once again this weekend.

“This course is a total beat-down,” Scheffler said, per Golfweek. “I’m usually pretty competitive, so when the conditions get really tough and the field gets really good, I get excited.”

“We watched it so many times on TV, watching Tiger win this tournament and make his putts on 18. So just kind of being on the same grounds where all that type of historic stuff had happened, it was just really cool coming here and being able to play. It was really special for them to let us come and play this golf course.”

Heading into the weekend, Scheffler is listed among the top favorites, behind just  World No. 1 Jon Rahm (+700). He’s followed by Rory McIlroy (+850), Colin Morikawa (+1600), Will Zalatoris (+1600) and Max Homa (+2000). Scottie Scheffler is never a bad bet to win a golf tournament, and he is garnering plenty of attention, but this one FanDuel bettor will have one hell of a weekend if Scheffler adds another win to his long list of accolades.
