2023 RBC Heritage One and Done Picks: Is It Collin Morikawa’s Time?

The PGA Tour’s elevated event series means that these non-majors are almost as important as some of the most prestigious events on tour. This week’s RBC Heritage fits that, as the $3.5 million payday draws almost all the world’s best, even after a grueling four days at The Masters. With so many top players, there are a ton of options for RBC Heritage One and Done picks.

RBC Heritage One and Done Picks and Targets

Safe Pick: Tony Finau

Finau has been Mr. Consistency this year, with his worst finish being last week’s 26th at The Masters. He is a walking top-20, and if his putter ever cooperates, Finau is going to be in the mix for another win. The ball striking has been fantastic all year, and Finau’s approach numbers are some of the bests on tour. The irons being in form is the most important thing at Harbour Town, so it is an easy sell if Finau is available.

Contrarian Pick: Rickie Fowler

It may seem like the One and Done season is over, but there is plenty of time no matter the nature of the standings. That said, it could be a time to mix it up and take a guy like Fowler in a field like this. Most people went to him at the Valero in the weak field to get him into The Masters, and although he did not win, he still finished 10th. Fowler has some momentum in 2023, most notably with his ball striking. He is playing quality golf, and the lack of success at this course is not a concern. He lost 5.5 strokes off the tee the last time he played at Harbour Town, but his game was not even close to in form. With so many top-end golfers, Fowler is going to slip under the radar.

Ben Rasa’s One and Done Pick: Collin Morikawa

This is more on the conservative side, as Collin Morikawa will be a popular One and Done choice this week. He finished 10th at The Masters and has played this course in recent years. He gained at least seven strokes on the approach in his last two appearances, so he can handle the tight layouts that Harbour Town offers. Morikawa has lost two-plus strokes on the greens every event here, so that is the big improvement he needs. If he can get any uptick with his short game, Morikawa is primed for his best RBC Heritage finish ever.
