Best YRFI & NRFI Picks Today: BIG Value on Braves-Rockies in Coors (August 29)

Ah, yes. Tuesday. After a fun Monday slate, we’ve got a full set of baseball action — so let’s turn to the top no (NRFI) and yes (YRFI) run first inning picks today I’ve found two picks I love today (one NRFI, one YRFI) that we’re going to exploit because the books just gave us too much value. For more NRFI & YRFI picks and parlays, make sure to follow me on Twitter. Also, a tip on unit structure for when you’re placing these wagers: I bet one unit on each as straight wagers, and I bet a fractional unit (usually a half-unit) on the pair as a YRFI/NRFI parlay

Best YRFI & NRFI Bets Today: Yes & No Run First Inning Bets

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs First Inning Bet

Let’s kick off our Tuesday picks by rooting against fun in Chicago.

The Brewers and Cubs scored a combined five runs in the first inning of Monday’s game (Brewers 4, Cubs 1), but that was mostly the doing of dusty Jameson Taillon, who is absolutely in love with giving up homers (21 this season). Today’s game will be a much different story.

The Brewers send Corbin Burnes to the mound, who is 18-8 in NRFI chances this season. Despite taking an L in his last NRFI opportunity, thanks to an error by Christian Yelich, we’re backing the Milwaukee RHP today. The Cubs have the 12th-most strikeouts in baseball this year and have whiffed 34 times in 98 ABs against Burnes.

For the Cubs, Justin Steele gets the ball and has been an absolute NRFI monster in 2023. We’re not quite at 2022 NRFI King Sandy Alcantara level yet, but Steele has been stellar. He is 20-4 in NRFI chances this year and has cashed NRFI picks in his last seven starts. In 93 at-bats, the Brewers have only 3 home runs and have struck out 31 times against Steele.

So, while the odds on this Brewers-Cubs NRFI sit mostly in the -140 or -145 range, be sure to take advantage of the value at -130 on Bet365.

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies First Inning Bet

How in the world can any YRFI featuring such a potent offense — in Coors Field, no less — carry odds lower than -160?!?

What’s the old saying: don’t look a gift horse in the mouth? Well, I’m staring a -140 YRFI in the mouth. And I’m smashing this to the moon. This bet doesn’t really need much analysis, but I’ll give you some anyway.

The Braves lead all teams in runs scored per first inning this year, and it’s not all that close. Atlanta is scoring .96 runs per first inning, while the next-closest team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, sit at .77 runs per first inning.

The Rockies are trotting out Peter Lambert, who performs far worse at home for obvious reasons. In his 31.1 innings pitching in Coors this season, he his opponents are hitting .292. He has coughed eight home runs as well, which helps to explain his bloated 6.61 ERA.

So, you’re giving me -140 odds on the most electric offense in the game in Coors Field? With these odds, I’m hammering this YRFI bet seven ways to Sunday.
