Phillies World Series Odds After Trea Turner Signing

Trea Turner will now be re-united with right-fielder Bryce Harper after the two teamed up together with the Washington Nationals. Turner played a pivotal role in try Nationals' World Series championship in 2019. He has been with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the past two seasons, where he has continued to prove that he's one of the very best shortstops in all of baseball.

"I think Trea Turner is one of the most underrated players in the game," Harper said during the end of last season via Fansided. "He's one of those guys that just goes under the radar. He's one of the best shortstops in the game. I'm excited to see where he goes next year.

In 2021, Turner slashed .298/.343/.466, with 21 home runs, 100 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and a career-best 39 doubles. He finished 11th in the National League MVP voting.

Despite Harper's claim that Turner is 'underrated', he'll now be paid as one of the top players in baseball. ESPN's Kylie McDaniel reported shortly after the news that the contract is worth $300 Million over 11 years.

After firing manager Joe Girardi mid-season, the Phillies turned into one of the best teams in baseball with Rob Thomson at the helm. And even though they came up just short of their championship goals, Philly proved that they have the core in place to make another run at the trophy next season.

With the addition of Trea Turner, the Phillies a now in clear World Series-or-bust mode, and it's hard to bet against their chances to make another deep run.
