The NBA enters its fourth weekend with six games for another small main slate (starting at 7 p.m. ET). Like last week, there are not many attractive games. The return match between the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trail Blazers at the Dallas Mavericks are the most intriguing. The Hawks (8-4) head to Philadelphia to take on a 76ers (5-7) squad whom they defeated 104-95 in Atalanta on Thursday. Neither team shot the ball well in the first matchup, particularly from the 3-point line, in a sloppy game with the teams combining for 35 turnovers. Joel Embiid and Trae Young led the way for their respective clubs but committed eight and six turnovers, respectively. Clint Capela was the big difference in the game, dominating the paint with 18 points and 20 rebounds while also giving Embiid fits on the offensive end. The Hawks enter the 7:30 p.m. (ET) winners of three of four games, while the 76ers are 1-3 in their last four.
The best game of the night could be the Trail Blazers (9-2) against the Mavericks (6-5). The Blazers have won three straight and are 6-1 on the road, while the Mavs, on a two-game losing streak, return to American Airlines Center, where they are 5-1. However, Portland is dealing with several injuries, as Jerami Grant, Keon Johnson, Jusuf Nurkic, Justice Winslow, and Shaedon Sharpe are on the injury report. Melton’s rebound prop of over 4.5 rebounds appears to be the biggest no-brainer of the night. However, Melton picked up a non-Covid illness over the last day. His status for tonight’s game is up in the air.
Melton is one of the best rebounding guards in the league, and he has been starting at shooting guard for the 76ers since James Harden went down with a foot injury on November 2.
With Harden out, Melton has seen at least 28 minutes and collected five rebounds in the last three games. Expect those two trends to continue tonight as Harden remains sidelined, and the Hawks and 76ers have struggled shooting the ball over the previous five games. Both teams are average shooting teams at best. Moreover, the Hawks like to play fast, which means lots of shots and misses. The 76ers do an excellent job on the defensive glass overall.

Expect Capela to have another strong game. He has fared well against the 76ers since coming over to the Hawks, compiling three double-doubles and averaging 11.3 points and 11.3 boards over the last six meetings.

Williamson has been fabulous this season. But he is just an average rebounder. Williamson averages 6.6 caroms a game and has gone over seven rebounds three times. Six boards are the most he has collected at the Smoothie Center in three games.
