Best PrizePicks NBA Player Predictions: D’Angelo Russell a great Taco pairing (January 30)

It’s Taco Tuesday on PrizePicks, and that means we get to take advantage of some discounted projections, wagering up to $25 on that entry. We’ll need to pair the taco with another play or two, so let’s see what tonight’s five-game slate has in store for us. The action tips off in Boston at 7:30 PM ET for the third meeting this season between the Pacers and Celtics. Al Horford is out, with Kristaps Porzingis listed as questionable for Boston, while Tyrese Haliburton is expected to play after missing 10 of the Pacers’ last 11 games. The Lakers will play the second leg of a back-to-back in Atlanta without Anthony Davis, who has been ruled out with hip soreness, and we’ll close out the slate in San Francisco with 76ers-Warriors. The status of Joel Embiid is TBD, while Tyrese Maxey has been ruled out for Philadelphia. Let’s dive into the best PrizePicks NBA picks and player predictions for Jan. 30, starting with D’Angelo Russell. Need more action? Our PrizePicks optimizer has plenty more picks waiting for you to view, and our PrizePicks guide can help you make the sharpest plays possible.

PrizePicks NBA Player Predictions: D’Angelo Russell & More

D’Angelo Russell M/L 37.5 Fantasy Score

D’Angelo Russell has been en fuego since being inserted back into the starting lineup on January 13. In those nine games, he’s averaging 41.8 fantasy points per game. In January, he’s shooting 50% from the field and 47.2% from three-point range on 8.8 attempts per game. Tonight he gets a great matchup against Atlanta, which allows the most points per game and the fifth most threes to opposing point guards. Atlanta ranks fifth in pace and 20th in defensive rating over their last 10 games and has the weight of Dejounte Murray trade rumors on their shoulders.

Not only is this a stellar matchup for Russell, whom I project to play 35+ minutes tonight in Atlanta, but he’ll have more opportunities too. Anthony Davis has been ruled out for the Lakers, giving Russell a 1.2 percent usage increase. Russell averages 1.03 fantasy points per minute in 288 minutes without Davis on the season.

Best PrizePicks NBA Player Prediction: D’Angelo Russell More Than 37.5 Fantasy Score

Donte DiVincenzo M/L 33.5 Fantasy Score

Donte DiVincenzo‘s stock has skyrocketed since the Knicks traded RJ Barrett and Quickley for a lower-usage, defensive stud in OG Anunoby. Since the trade, DiVincenzo is averaging 1.01 fantasy points per minute. On top of his improved play, he’ll have more opportunity tonight with Julius Randle out for New York. With Randle off the court, he’s up to 1.07 fantasy points per minute, and tonight he gets a great matchup against the Jazz. Utah allows the second most fantasy points to point guards and the ninth most to shooting guards.

The Knicks played last night, beating the Hornets by 19 points, while DiVincenzo played a team-high 42 minutes. We know Tom Thibodeau likes to play his starters big minutes, and with no Randle and Isaiah Hartenstein on a minutes limit, we’ll likely see DiVincenzo play another 35+ minutes tonight, even on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Knicks will play again at home on Thursday against Indiana. The Jazz are second in pace and 26th in defensive rating over their last 10 games. 34+ tonight for Donte, lock it in!

Best PrizePicks NBA Player Prediction: Donte DiVincenzo More Than 33.5 Fantasy Score

Dennis Schroder M/L 6 Assists

Dennis Schroder is averaging 6.3 assists on the season and finds himself with more opportunities tonight against the Bulls. RJ Barrett is out for Toronto, with Immanuel Quickley doubtful, and Jakob Poeltl questionable. Since January 1, with Barrett and Quickley off the court, Schroder has played the second most minutes behind Scottie Barnes, sporting a 25.6% usage rate. He gets a five percent bump in assist percentage to 27.6% with those guys off the court.

This will be the second game in a row the Raptors will play without Barrett and Quickley. Schroder started last game and had the highest plus/minus of the five starters. He committed his fifth foul in the third quarter before eventually fouling out with two minutes to go in the one-point loss to Atlanta on Sunday. He finished with 6 assists in that one. If he doesn’t get into foul trouble, he likely plays 35 minutes, which is what I expect him to play tonight against Chicago. The books have the juice on the over of 5.5, which led PrizePicks to bump the projection to 6. Chicago is a pace-down spot but rank 24th in opponent assists. I like the safety net of the even 6 here but projecting him for 7+.

Best PrizePicks NBA Player Prediction: Dennis Schroder More Than 6 Assists
