Best PrizePicks NBA Props: Joel Embiid Contributing Defensively, Jrue Holiday Offensively

Sunday’s NBA slate features 14 teams and plenty of player props to choose from on PrizePicks. Joel Embiid and Jrue Holiday are in great spots to have strong outings. As always, make sure to check out the OddsShopper tool for more NBA player props.

Best PrizePicks NBA Props | Dec. 11

Joel Embiid Over 2.5 Combined Steals + Blocks

For Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets are a great matchup for blocks, particularly for opposing centers. The Hornets allow 7.2 blocks per game to their opponents (most in the NBA), 3.23 to the center position, also most in the league. While Charlotte is much better at limiting opponents’ steals (6.6, ninth fewest), it is middle of the road in steals allowed to the center position (1.1 per game, 16th). Brook Lopez (six), Nic Claxton (four), and Mitchell Robinson (four) are some of the recent centers to rack up defensive stats against Charlotte, and Embiid should be able to do so as well considering his rates and favorable matchup.

Embiid averages 1.6 blocks and 1.1 steals per game this season, going over 2.5 combined steals and blocks in 10 of his 17 games (including in eight straight games, a streak that ended in the most recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers). Embiid is projected for 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals and will have every opportunity to go over his “stocks” prop against Charlotte’s weak frontcourt.

Best PrizePicks Prop: Joel Embiid OVER 2.5 Combined Steals + Blocks

Jrue Holiday Over 17.5 Points and/or Over 1.5 3-Pointers (If available)

Holiday should thrive for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Houston Rockets, who allow the second most points (27.89) and the most assists (10.54), made 3’s (3.65), and steals (2.62) per game to the point guard position. Houston isn’t doing particularly better lately, allowing the most points, second most made 3-pointers, second most steals, and eighth most assists to the position in the past seven games. Notably, all of the past five starting point guards to face Houston have gone over their points and made 3’s props: Jamal Murray (26, four), Cameron Payne (20, four), Stephen Curry (30, eight), James Harden (21, four), and Tre Jones (26, two).

Though Holiday failed to go over this points prop more often than not, his season average is above the line. Holiday averages about 19 points, 6.1 3-point attempts, and 2.2 made 3’s per game this season, going over 17.5 points in eight out of 20 games. His rates in the past four games (since Khris Middleton’s return) haven’t taken a hit, as he is averaging 23.3 points, 6.8 3-point attempts, and 3 made 3’s during this recent stretch. Holiday scored 19 points when the teams played Oct. 22 and is projected for 18.5 points today. Altogether, taking the over on his points prop should prove profitable. If PrizePicks has Holiday’s made 3’s prop at 1.5, taking the over is another great way to tackle this matchup (three made 3’s last time against the Rockets).

Best PrizePicks Prop: Jrue Holiday OVER 17.5 Points
