NBA No House Advantage – Best NBA Player Props

Damian Lillard, POR vs. CHA: Over 25.5 Points

Lillard was locked in against the Nuggets on Friday, scoring 34 points in 39 minutes. Since returning from a seven-game absence because of a calf injury, he has averaged 29.9 points over 10 games. During that span, he averaged 19.6 shots and 6.1 free-throw attempts. His usage rate is up to 32.0% for the season.

The stars could be aligning for a big performance from Lillard again. The Hornets have played at the 10th-fastest pace in the league, and that number could be on the rise with LaMelo Ball healthy again. They also have the fourth-worst defensive rating. As long as the Hornets can keep this game close, Lillard could reach the 30-point plateau again.

Lauri Markkanen, UTA at SA: Over 1.5 3-Pointers Made

This number is set surprisingly low. Markkanen is averaging 3.0 3-pointers per game for the season and is shooting 43.8% from behind the arc. He has made at least two 3-pointers in 13 straight games and has hit one or no 3-pointers in only seven of his 32 games.

Markkanen is averaging 6.8 3-point attempts per game and has never averaged fewer than 5.8 attempts per game during any season of his career. The Spurs have the worst defensive rating in the league and have allowed the highest 3-point shooting percentage. Markkanen could blow past this total.

Jabari Smith, HOU at CHI: Over 1.5 3-Pointers Made

It hasn’t exactly been a smooth transition to the NBA for Smith. He is averaging 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, but he is only shooting 38.6% from the field. More than half of his shot attempts have come from behind the arc, which has contributed to his lack of efficiency. On the bright side, he is locked into a prominent role as a starter who is averaging 30 minutes per game.

This is a matchup in which Smith has the potential to provide one of his better stat lines, especially from behind the arc. Smith has already made at least two 3-pointers in 14 of his last 19 games. The Bulls have allowed the second-highest 3-point shooting percentage in the league, and they will be missing one of their best perimeter defenders in Alex Caruso (concussion).

Jakob Poeltl, SA vs. UTA: Under 9.5 Rebounds

Poeltl had a breakout 2021-22 season, providing 13.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over 29 minutes per game. It was the most minutes per game that he had averaged in his career, and he entered this season projected to be in a similar role. As the Spurs continued to dive deeper into a rebuilding process, Poeltl is one of the players who is more likely to be dealt before the trade deadline.

Poeltl continued to play a lot out of the gate, but a knee injury recently forced him to miss seven straight games. He has been battling knee soreness since he returned, which has contributed to him playing 22 minutes or fewer in four straight games. He didn’t top seven rebounds in any of those matchups. There is no indication that he is ready to take on an expanded role yet, so it will be difficult for him to hit this over.
