Air Force vs. Wyoming Odds & Prediction: Expect Falcons to Cover the Spread in High Scoring Game (September 16)

It is already the third weekend of the college football season, and it is starting to get into the swing of conference play.

The Air Force Falcons will travel to Laramie to battle the Wyoming Cowboys for a very intriguing Friday night Mountain West matchup.

Air Force comes into this game with a 2-0 record while Wyoming sits at 2-1. Both teams have shown glimpses of promise and this game will be incredibly important for these programs to keep their seasons moving in the right direction.

Friday night college football has given us some great games in the past. Expect this week’s matchups to bring even more excitement.

Air Force vs. Wyoming Week 3 Prediction

Falcons Show Promise

This Air Force squad has looked incredibly impressive in the early going and will be a major contender for a Mountain West title. They won their opening contest against an always competitive FCS power, Northern Iowa, 48-17. Air Force then beat Colorado 41-10 last week. This is a team who has shown that they can light up the scoreboard but also play stifling defense when necessary.

The Falcons have a very run-heavy offense and have received incredible contributions from multiple playmakers. Running back Brad Roberts currently leads the team in both rushing yards and touchdowns.

Quarterback Haaziq Daniels has provided 136 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground. Daniels has shown that he can also be efficient through the air and has posted an exceptional 155.7 passer rating through the first couple of games.

The Falcons’ defense has been up to the task so far and has forced 2 interceptions. They have given up a total of 27 points through their first 2 games.

Wyoming’s Major Keys

A 2-1 record is better than nothing, but Wyoming needs to pick their play up if they are going to hang with the Falcons on Friday night.

The Cowboys have won their last two games but opened up the season by getting the doors blown off in a 38-6 loss to Illinois. This team has shown glimpses of being able to put up points, but they need to be able to execute in all phases of the game.

Quarterback Andrew Peasley has thrown for 430 yards and 2 touchdowns so far this season. Wyoming’s starting running back, Titus Swen, has posted 3 rushing touchdowns. This is a team that is very balance statistically and that has had numerous athletes touch the ball on offense.

Defensively, the Cowboys have forced 5 turnovers. Their ability to force mistakes could be a major difference maker on Friday.

Wyoming vs. Air Force Prediction

Air Force currently sits as 15-point favorites going into this contest with a game total at 47 points. This has the makings of a higher scoring affair, especially towards the end of the game if a lead starts to grow.

Air Force looks good to cover this spread. They have played consistent football and could wind up in the top 25 next week with a big win, and if a couple other top teams lose on Saturday. The Falcons covered the spread last week and also went over the projected 50-point game total in their win against Colorado.

Wyoming could get caught being down a few scores and will start to take some chances to add to the scoreboard late in the contest. This game looks good to go over the 47-point total and there should be some big numbers put up on Friday night.
