College Football National Championship Player Props for Georgia vs. TCU

The college football season will come to a dramatic close with tonight’s matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs. TCU, a 12.5-point underdog, will look to score another massive upset after big wins over Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan earlier in the year. Bettors should tail these College Football National Championship player props for Georgia-TCU, including one Max Duggan player prop. College Football National Championship Player Props

Max Duggan Over 234.5 Passing Yards

Head coach Sonny Dykes turned the controls over to Max Duggan after his initial starting quarterback, Chandler Morris, struggled early against the Colorado Buffaloes. Duggan took the job and never looked back. The Heisman finalist averaged 270.7 passing yards and 2.46 passing touchdowns per game as a starter. Duggan threw for 235 yards or more in all but four of his starts. In every game Duggan failed to clear this number, one of his running backs scampered for 70-plus yards. Three of the misses saw Kendre Miller or Emari Demercado run for 120-plus yards.

The Horned Frogs will struggle to get the running game to work on Monday night. Miller, their starter, is 50-50 to play. His backup, Demercado, looked great against Michigan but has averaged almost a half-yard less than Miller per carry. The Horned Frogs will also line up against a Georgia defensive line that ranks fifth in line yards. The Frogs played one top-20 unit in defensive line yards all year, Oklahoma State, and that resulted in a narrow overtime win in which Duggan threw for 286 yards.

Georgia’s defense could cause problems for Duggan, but the Bulldogs have looked vulnerable against the pass lately. Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud just threw for 348 yards against them. LSU’s quarterbacks combined for 502 passing yards in the SEC championship game. Georgia ranks only 72nd in passing yards allowed per game (233.5), largely because of their tendency to build leads large enough to force their opponents to throw. Bettors should tail this Max Duggan player prop before the line moves.

Quentin Johnston Over 88.5 Receiving Yards

If the Horned Frogs rely on the passing game, expect future first-round pick Quentin Johnston to do some damage in the passing game. Johnston often missed parts of games with injuries this year but still managed to record a whopping 1,066 receiving yards — and on only 59 catches. He just went for 163 receiving yards against Michigan. The 6-foot-4, 193-pound boundary receiver has the size necessary to compete with the best boundary cornerbacks in the FBS.

Big-bodied wideouts have found success against Georgia this year. Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., a 6-foot-3, 202-pound boundary receiver, caught five passes for 106 yards last week. Tennessee’s Cedric Tillman, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound boundary receiver, caught a team-high 68 yards — beating out this year’s Biletnikoff Award winner, Jalin Hyatt, who manned the slot. Vanderbilt’s Will Sheppard, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound boundary receiver, racked up a team-high 45 receiving yards — 42.8% of his team’s total.
