We’re grabbing over 62.5 points at -112 on DraftKings in tonight’s clash between East Carolina and Tulsa. This might seem like a high number, but a closer look at both teams shows just why this total is well within reach.
Tulsa has had a challenging season defensively. Recently, it gave up a massive 59 points to UAB — a team that isn’t exactly known for explosive offensive numbers. UAB racked up 400 passing yards and six touchdowns through the air against Tulsa, and it wasn’t an isolated incident. In the previous game, Tulsa was involved in a 90-point shootout with UTSA, showing that it struggles mightily to contain even average offenses. This lack of defensive resistance should allow East Carolina to find the end zone frequently tonight.
East Carolina has shown it can light up the scoreboard when given the opportunity. It is coming off back-to-back games with point totals of 49 and 56, and it recently combined for 73 points in a game against Army. Not only did East Carolina put up big numbers, but Army managed to score 45 points as well, so East Carolina’s own defense isn’t exactly rock solid. With the tempo these two teams use, tonight’s game has all the makings of another high-scoring affair.
Both East Carolina and Tulsa play at a blistering pace, which should lead to plenty of possessions and scoring chances. Tulsa ranks among the top 20 in the country in seconds per play, and East Carolina is even faster, sitting in the top 5. This uptempo approach is perfect for an over bet.
