Treylon Burks Monday Night Football Props: Public Bettors Backing Titans Rookie Receiver Ahead of MNF

Bettors are expecting a big breakout game from Tennessee Titans rookie receiver Treylon Burks during their Monday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Per Caesars Sportsbook’s Max Meyer, there is twice as much money on Burks to hit the over on receiving yards (29.5) than any other prop bet on the board for either Monday Night Football game tonight.

During the Titans’ week 1 game against the New York Giants, Treylon Burks had three receptions for 55 yards, and showed glimpses of why the Titans believe he can play a role in filling the massive void left by AJ Brown’s departure during the offseason.

Even though Burks didn’t get a ton of playing time in the preseason for the Titans, he’s already showing why that was no reason for concern teasing into the regular season. The first-round draft pick played in all three preseason games but had just 41 receiving yards in total.

“The thing that I’ve always tried to say with regard to receivers is they can’t control when they get the ball,” Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said of Burks’ low usage in the preseason. “All they can control is they get open and we can review the film and say, hey, this is where we would like the ball to go. I don’t want to tell quarterbacks, ‘Hey, throw it to this guy.’ That’s not the direction that we really want to head.

“But was really encouraged by some of the things that he did, especially without the football — trying to block. There were times when he was open — whether that be for a catch-and-run. And then there were some other times where we would like to see a better route. Just continue to progress and work on the conditioning in the game, all the things that are required of the receivers.”

Regardless of what occurred during the preseason, it appears as though Burks is building a strong rapport with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, and he should get more and more looks as the year progresses.

“Treylon, you know, a guy came in and didn’t get a lot of work in the spring — just some things he was dealing with. And now coming out in training camp, from Day One, he’s made plays for me,” Tannehill said during a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio “So, it’s been exciting for me. I didn’t really know — solid college tape, watched the film. But didn’t really know because I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, per se. So to come out here and hit a deep ball first day, and he’s consistently making plays for me.”
