Aaron Jones or A.J. Dillon: Which Packers Running Back Ranks Better For Fantasy Football, DFS?

Will the Green Bay Packers feature more of Aaron Jones or A.J. Dillon in Week 15? Ahead of the Los Angeles Rams vs. Packers MNF matchup, let’s take a look at the Aaron JonesA.J. Dillon fantasy football & DFS rankings and see which running back carries more value.

Aaron JonesAJ Dillon Fantasy Football & DFS Rankings

Per Stokastic’s weekly running back rankings, Aaron Jones unsurprisingly better than A.J. Dillon for Week 15. Using Stokastic’s free player compare tool, Jones projects to have 16.40 points, with Dillon coming in at 11.68 points.

With Stokastic’s DFS projections, Dillon ($6,200) actually ranks as a slightly better DFS option over Jones ($11,200) due to the large difference in pricing.

The biggest concern for Jones fantasy football owners was centered around his ankle injury, which forced him to leave the Week 13 win over the Chicago Bears. Given the extra time thanks to the Week 14 bye, Jones has had time to heal that ankle and is good to go for Monday Night Football, making him the clear play over Dillon.

Jones has 847 yards and two touchdowns on the year, adding 48 receptions for 328 yards and four touchdowns. Dillon has served as a valuable complimentary back to Jones all season long, with 624 yards rushing and three touchdowns to go along with 23 receptions for 159 yards.

Earlier in the season, Packers head coach and play-caller Matt LaFleur came under fire for failing to run the ball with Jones down the stretch.

“Any time Aaron Jones comes out of a game with eight touches, that’s not good enough,” LaFleur said after losing in Week 1 to the Vikings, via PFT.

But as the season has progressed, the platoon situation with Dillon has continued to hinder Jones’ fantasy football ceiling. Before the injury in Week 13, Jones carried the ball just 12 times in both Week 11 and Week 12. And he’ll be going up against a Rams defense that ranks ninth in the league in fantasy football points allowed to opposing running backs.

It’s fair to expect a rejuvenated Jones to get the ball more than Dillon on Monday night, and he’s a must-start in most fantasy football leagues. But there are some concerns regarding his usage that could limit his potential going forward.
