CeeDee Lamb had high expectations coming into the season, with an unfortunate quarterback situation that has led him to a lackluster start in 2022. Tonight he gets the New York Giants defense, which will be by far the best matchup he has faced thus far. With this game’s total at 39, that leaves an obscure opportunity to get a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver at nearly 2-1 odds.
CeeDee Lamb Anytime Touchdown (+160, DraftKings)
Lamb to find the end zone at +160 via DraftKings is excellent value. With the absence of Aaron Robinson due to his appendix, Cordale Flott is projected to be across from Lamb tonight. Flott is a third-round pick from 2022, and with little time in the league, he has been below average in coverage. He’s been targeted three times in 2022 and has allowed a 91.7 passer rating and a whopping 16 yards per reception.
The Giants have one of the worst pairs of coverage linebacker as well. Tae Crowder ranks 60th out of 68 gradable linebackers in coverage grade, and his partner Austin Calitro ranks even worse.
The safety on Lamb’s side will be Xavier McKinney. McKinney was drafted in 2022 and has never been spectacular at coverage since coming into the league. When targeted, he has allowed over 110.0 passer rating and 16 yards per reception. The safety to his left will be Julian Love, who will carry the theme of being lackluster in coverage as well. He allows over a 115.0 passer rating and 15.5 yards per reception when targeted.
Through two games, Lamb has 20 targets and zero touchdowns. However, the return of Michael Gallup should relieve some pressure on Lamb to perform. Bet on Lamb to haul in his first touchdown in prime time.
