Eagles-Chiefs Player Prop Pick

A.J. Brown Prop O/U 6.5 Receptions

We can’t get bamboozled into another primetime letdown game, right? Eagles-Chiefs has the makings of being a great one for over bettors – a close spread with two high-explosive offenses led by two quarterbacks that headline the MVP conversation. I’m targeting one of the top wide receivers in the league, A.J. Brown, as our top player prop bet for Monday Night Football.

A.J. Brown is one of the few players in the league who can take the top off any defense, catch a curl route, and truck the opposing cornerback for a first down. That’s what makes him so lethal. The sportsbooks have opened up his reception prop at 6.5, with FanDuel and DraftKings having the biggest edge. FanDuel is priced 19 cents better than Caesars and 23 cents better than BetMGM. That’s the +EV talking. Now, let’s get to football. Brown has reeled in at least seven catches in seven of nine games this season and four straight. The worry is that the Chiefs will do all they can to limit Brown and make others beat them. The problem with that is the Eagles have playmakers all over the field – even with Dallas Goedert sidelined. If Jalen Hurts can’t find Brown deep down the field, I expect them to get him involved in the screen and short game to put the football in his hands – just like the Dolphins did with Tyreek Hill in Germany two weeks ago against the Chiefs. We may even get a passing game script from the Eagles with how poor their defense has been.

Eagles-Chiefs Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Jalen Hurts to score a touchdown is plus money? Sign me up. I know two things about this Monday Night matchup: Jalen Hurts is primed to get rushing attempts inside the redzone, and Kansas City has a middle-of-the-road redzone defense. Not only that, but Hurts admitted that the bye week came at a perfect time. He’s dealt with a load of injuries to his body this season, as any running quarterback does. So, we’re banking on Hurts being as healthy as he’s been in some time.

Before you ask, no, the Chiefs have yet to allow a rushing touchdown to an opposing quarterback this season. Luckily for us, they have yet to play a mobile quarterback like Hurts. Hurts has run in the seventh most touchdowns this season with seven. His 20 carries inside the 10 are double more than the next quarterback, Lamar Jackson. Trust him to run it in for the seventh time in ten games this season.
