While the 49ers have already been eliminated from playoff contention and the Lions don’t need this win to secure the NFC’s top seed, there’s still plenty of pride on the line. This game serves as a revenge spot for Detroit after last year’s NFC Championship loss, and Dan Campbell isn’t the type to back down, even in lower-stakes situations. Jahmyr Gibbs H/L Than 18.5 Rushing Attempts
The Lions leaned heavily on Jahmyr Gibbs in their first game after David Montgomery’s injury, and he delivered. Facing Chicago, Gibbs recorded 23 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown while adding four receptions for 45 yards.
While there’s a chance Gibbs could see limited usage if Detroit finds themselves in a comfortable position, head coach Dan Campbell isn’t one to take his foot off the gas. Whether or not the Lions dominate early, expect their game plan to feature a strong ground attack. The 49ers have struggled to stop the run this season, ranking 27th in run defense per PFF. Over their last four games, opposing lead running backs have averaged 18.5 carries per game against them.
Stokastic’s industry-leading NFL DFS projections forecast Gibbs for 22 carries and 107 rushing yards tonight, well above the 18.5 carries prop line currently available. Expect Gibbs to be heavily featured, making the over on his carries a strong look.
Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Prediction: Jahmyr Gibbs Higher Than 18.5 Rush Attempts
Jared Goff M/L 33.5 Pass Attempts
This play ties directly to our earlier analysis. If we’re expecting Gibbs to handle a significant workload, it aligns with Jared Goff staying under 33.5 pass attempts in a game where urgency likely won’t be a factor for the Lions.
San Francisco is allowing the third-fewest pass attempts per game (29.8), and Goff has stayed under this mark in 10 of 15 games this season.
Stokastic’s NFL DFS projections have Goff attempting 32 passes tonight. We’ve only seen Goff surpassed this number in Detroit’s two losses or in high-scoring, back-and-forth games. Tonight’s matchup doesn’t project to fit that mold.
