2022 World Cup No House Advantage Player Props: Mount to Stay Quiet for England vs. Iran

The 2022 World Cup is officially underway, with three games to look forward to Monday, in Groups A and B, including England-Iran, Senegal-Netherlands and USA-Wales. It is safe to say the quality of play will probably be sufficiently better than Sunday’s matinee, when Ecuador defeated host Qatar 2-0. In turn, we have some exciting No House Advantage World Cup player props on the offensive side of the ball.

World Cup No House Advantage Player Props: Nov. 21

Marcus Rashford (England) Under 1.5 Shots

There is a solid chance Marcus Rashford doesn’t even play against Iran on Monday. The Manchester United wing has been out of favor with Gareth Southgate, not even putting on an England shirt since the Euro 2020 Final.

In truth, Rashford does like to shoot, pulling the trigger 2.56 times per 90 minutes for Manchester United this season. But he has not taken a non-penalty shot for England in over 160 minutes, showing how out of touch he is with that offense. Even if he makes a late cameo, expect him to be feeding balls into the middle, not trying to score himself.

Mason Mount (England) Under 0.5 Shots on Goal

Staying with England, Mason Mount should stay under 0.5 shots on goal. At this point, Mount’s minutes are also questionable, with Jack Grealish and Phil Foden probably above him in the pecking order.

Mount undoubtedly loves to pull the trigger while playing for England, averaging 2.19 shots per 90 in 2022. But hardly any of those shots end up challenging the keeper. In 2022, only 15% of Mount’s 13 shots ended up on target, equating to a per 90 ratio of 0.34, one of England’s worst.

This ratio creeps up to 0.52 when playing for Chelsea, but it is still not remotely high enough for a consideration on the over. Mount is a solid contributor to this England side but will find it difficult to break through an organized Iran defense, especially from the left.

Brenden Aaronson (USA) Under 1.5 Shots

The last No House Advantage player prop is for Brenden Aaronson to stay under 1.5 total shots. Aaronson is a fine player for the United States and will probably start on the right wing. This is a position he has thrived in at Leeds in the Premier League. However, he shoots the ball only 1.44 times per 90 minutes, which is quite conservative.

Against Wales, he will have a difficult time as the left side of its team is the strongest. Depending how Rob Page wants to set up, he could put Dan James, Neco Williams and Ben Davies on that flank. That would be incredibly difficult to navigate, which is why the United States will play more centrally Monday, isolating Aaronson more than usual.
