Best U.S. Open Tennis Bet: Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz Face Off in Quarterfinals

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic may be the two biggest names in tennis, but U.S. Open fans weren’t sleeping on Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner. The duo were 3-4 in the U.S. Open odds board, and all eyes were on them when they squared off in the Round of 16 on Monday. Zverev got the best of Sinner in an epic five-set match to set up a quarterfinal showdown with Alcaraz. Best U.S. Open Tennis Bet: Zverev-Alcaraz Bet and Prediction

Alexander Zverev-Carlos Alcaraz Odds, via DraftKings
Zverev: +330 | Alcaraz: -425
Zverev +2.5: -155 | Alcaraz -2.5: +110

Zverev and Sinner traded blows in a full five-set match on Monday. The two young stars entered as the third- and fourth-ranked players on the U.S. Open odds board. Neither player disappointed, turning in a top performance in the showdown. Zverev won the first set 6-4, Sinner won the second set 6-3, Zverev the third set 6-2, and Sinner won the fourth set 6-4. Zverev eventually eked out the victory by taking down the fifth set 6-3. His win sets up a huge battle with Alcaraz.

Alcaraz is second only to Novak Djokovic in the odds to win the U.S. Open. Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam at last year’s U.S. Open and took down his second major tournament champion earlier this summer at Wimbledon. Zverev is yet to win a Grand Slam but is looking to change those results in 2023. He’ll have to go through Alcaraz, who is arguably the top player in the world, in order to do so.

The Zverev-Alcaraz odds are heavily in favor of the Spaniard heading into Wednesday’s matchup. Alcaraz is -425 to take down Zverev and is +110 to win by more than two sets. The winner will take on the winner of the quarterfinal match between Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev. Novak Djokovic has already earned a spot in the Semi-finals by defeating Taylor Fritz in straight sets. Djokovic will take on the winner of the Frances TiafoeBen Shelton match on Tuesday night.

Despite the lopsided odds, the best Zverev-Alcaraz bet favors the underdog. Tennis bettors can grab Alexander Zverev +1.5 at DraftKings for +195. The Zverev-Alcaraz bet has true odds of +179 and a 36% chance of winning. That gives it a 6% positive expected value. It’s worth staking about 2% of your bankroll if you’re using the full Kelly Criterion.

The tennis odds are certain to move leading up to the first serve. Keep an eye out at OddsShopper for line movement and stay up with all the best tennis bets and expert analysis.
