LeBron James over 7.5 Assists (+105)
LeBron is the true leader of this team, an essentially plays the point guard role. Through 4 games this year 7.75 assists per game, and 14.7 potential assists per game. The Lakers get a soft matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves who give up the most assists in the NBA at 31.2 per game. This Timberwolves defense has really struggled, and we expect LeBron and the Lakers to have a big bounce back game against a bad defense after struggling offensively to start out the year.
Terrence Ross under 6.5 Assists + Rebounds (-140)
This was a surprising line to me, Ross has failed to hit this line in the first 5 games of the year, and he is only averaging 4.4 assists + rebounds to start the year. The Hornets defense hasn’t been as bad as expected, and actually are about middle of the pack in terms of assists allowed and rebounds allowed per game. Ross plays about 31 minutes per game but is not very ball dominant so his opportunity to generate assists is very low. All 4 of the starters alongside Ross are solid rebounders, being led by Wendell Carter Jr. and rookie Paolo Banchero in the rebounding department.
Jordan Clarkson over 2.5 3PM (-105)
Clarkson has started the season off shooting very well from 3, in 5 games Clarkson is shooting 18/42 (43%) from behind the arc. He did face the Nuggets already this year and only shot 4 3’s, only making one. This was both his lowest amount of 3s taken, and lowest 3s made in a game. We expect that to change today, as the season has gone on, he’s only increasing his shots taken from behind the arc, taking an average of 8.4 in the last 5 games, and have 3 games where he shot double digit attempts. This Nuggets defense is really struggling, allowing the 4th most points in the NBA, and allowing shooting guards to make 3.91 3s per game. If Clarkson shoots somewhere in the 8-10 range, I feel really good he knocks down 3 to keep our NBA parlays alive.
John Collins o24.5 Points + Rebounds (-120)
Collins is really meshing well with his team, and the new addition Dejounte Murray. Through 4 games this year Collins is averaging 29.5 points + rebounds and has cleared the 30 mark 3 out of 4 games, with the only game he hasn’t hit his line being against the Hornets. The Hawks are making some adjustments to start the year and have been running Collins at the 5 for different parts of the game, with the newly acquired length of Murray, they are able to go smaller across different positions depending on the matchups.
