Best MNF Player Prop Bets: Nick Foles Gets a Crack at Solving the Colts Offense

The Indianapolis Colts will deploy their third starting quarterback of the season on Monday night: Veteran Nick Foles. Ahead of the Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, let’s take a look at some of the best Nick Foles player props.

Best Nick Foles Props for MNF

Stokastic’s NFL Player Prop tool sees it best to fade Nick Foles props in his first start of the season. According to Stokastic’s models, the under on 231.5 passing yards (-125 on DraftKings) and 1.5 touchdowns (-170) are both strong plays. Stokastic projects Foles to throw for 224.9 yards, giving the under a 50% chance of hitting. That expected ROI on the wager projects to 10%. The under on touchdown passes has a 64% chance of hitting, with an ROI of 9%.

Monday night will mark the first time Foles will be starting under center since the 2021 season, when he was a member of the Chicago Bears. In that one start, Foles completed 24 of 25 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown in a 25-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He’ll replace Matt Ryan, who has now been benched on two separate occasions this season.

“Ultimately, I feel like Nick will give us a better chance to go win these last three games,” Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday said, per Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

It has most definitely been a year to forget for Ryan in Indianapolis. He currently leads the NFL in interceptions with 13, ranks 25th in yards per attempt (6.6), 25th in QBR (43.6) and has been sacked a whopping 38 times. But when former Colts head coach Frank Reich benched Ryan for the more agile Sam Ehlinger following Week 8, the backup didn’t fare much better in the dismal Colts offense. He threw no touchdowns in his two games under center.

Enter Foles, who has had strong stints in the NFL during his 11-year NFL career. What most people will point to is the Super Bowl MVP when filling in for the injured Carson Wentz during the Philadelphia Eagles‘ run in the 2017-18 season, but Foles was also an MVP candidate during his first stint in Philadelphia during the 2013 season, throwing 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions in Chip Kelly’s offense.

Lately it’s been a different story for Foles. After a failed stint with the Jaguars, Foles couldn’t find his footing in Chicago either. And it’s hard to imagine he’ll be the necessary spark to a Colts team that has so many flaws in their offense.

Given the circumstances, Monday Night Football is a prime opportunity to fade Nick Foles.
