Rodgers and the Packers (4-7) come into Sunday’s matchup against the Eagles (8-1) needing a win to inspire any hope they can mount a late charge into the postseason, and they’ll have to deal with more roadblocks than just the performance on the field. This week, Rodgers let it slip that he’s been dealing with a thumb injury that’s been making it hard to grip the football.
“I think I’ve had worse injuries I’ve played with,” Rodgers told reporters, via NFL.com, adding that his thumb was worse earlier in the season but hasn’t gotten much better, either. “There would be a couple plays every game, maybe a snap slightly inside or a hit that might jolt it a little bit. Just dealing with the occasional kind of dull pain and working through it.”
Sunday it was revealed by insider Ian Rapoport that Rodgers has been dealing with an Avulsion fracture in the right thumb.
The Eagles are coming off an uninspiring 17-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts and lost their perfect record with a loss to the Washington Commanders the week prior.
Per DraftKings, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are a 6.5-point favorite over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
